Navigating Wokeness
From the Pastor
Many Christians are trying to discern more now than ever how to be “IN” the world but not “OF” the world.
It seems each new day there is another corporation that has implemented what is often called “woke” policies. Meaning their policies are in direct conflict with God’s Word.
While corporations are not a part of the Church, we are. This can make us feel conflicted about what we need to do when it comes to buying from these companies.
First, I would tell you almost everything we use in our daily lives in today’s world has some attachment to “wokeness”. Our phones, our computers, our drinks, our food, our clothing, and certainly our entertainment. This has been true for many years.
What has changed is both the speed at which these companies are giving themselves over to evil and the depths to which they are going.
Second, I would tell you this must be a personal decision. However, do not allow that to diminish the importance of making the right decision.
In Ephesians 5:11, Paul says we are to “have no fellowship with works of darkness, but rather expose them.” It’s hard on the other hand to find the scripture that tells us to just keep doing what we want because it will not matter in the end.
“but as for me and my house we will serve the lord.”
