We Will Remember
From the Pastor
Kids running around everywhere is usually a nightmare I wake up from in a cold sweat. But not this time. If you were here last Sunday, you know what I mean. There were kids running, laughing, playing, and learning about God’s Word. It wasn’t a nightmare; it was a dream come true—God’s answer to our many prayers.
What started with an article after a “Great Day in May” culminated in an abundant harvest of the Spirit’s fruit. It’s one thing to talk about the fruit of the Spirit, but another to see it in action: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. These were evident not just last Sunday, but for many weeks prior.
So many people contributed to making that day a success that it’s impossible to list everyone without missing someone. You know who you are, and I want you to know how much I appreciate you. This congregation is special, and we wanted others to see that too.
Last Sunday was special, but our challenge now is to maintain that atmosphere every Sunday at Cumberland. If you doubt this is possible, come see me. I have a group of dedicated people who can change your mind.
Cumberland’s best days are ahead if we think spiritually, not worldly. Many in our community are searching for answers. We have them and know they work. Let’s find these people, connect them to Jesus, and plant their roots deep into Cumberland, just as many others have done.
