I hope it’s not only a little shocking but even more exciting to have our new chairs in place as we gather this morning.

Some of us will like the new chairs right off the bat and some of us will not.

Many will tell you that it doesn’t matter where you sit anyway. I think I might disagree. Let me illustrate by asking you which chair you are sitting in this morning as we gather.

1. The Chair of Contentment

Are you content with things always being the same? Is progress something that scares you? Many of us think this chair is the most comfortable. The problem is if the chair never changes or is not maintained it will become unstable and eventually unusable.

2. The Chair of Compromise

Some of us come to the building every week and sit in it and listen to what’s being said, but we live our lives thinking this chair will be the most comfortable. The problem with this chair is how difficult it becomes to get out of it once you are in it. When we compromise to allow sin in our lives this chair moves us further and further from the Lord.

3. The Chair of Commitment

This chair sometimes appears the most uncomfortable, so we put off sitting in it. Yet, this is the chair where we belong. It’s hard enough to force us out of it to serve others and soft enough to allow us a loving attitude.
